After the site visit
Site visits cover the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut area. Following the visit the estimator determines the quantity of materials and labour needed, and makes decisions on equipment, sequence of operations, crew size and the physical constraints of the site.
Allowances for wasted material, inclement weather, shipping delays and other cost factors are incorporated, and subcontractor costs to the general contractor are analysed and included. The estimator then prepares the bid proposal for submission to the owner.
